Vending machines to have online connection with NAV’s IT system

Vending machines to have online connection with NAV’s IT system
A so-called vending machine supervision unit (AFE) is ready and waiting for authorisation to be used. AFE will make it possible to establish online connection between food and drink vending machines and the central IT system of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV). It was in last September that the Ministry for National Economy obliged (with the decree 31/2016 (IX.2.)) vending machine operators to provide data to the tax authority. The deadline for equipping vending machines with the unit is 1 July 2017.
It must be noted that data from the vending machines won’t directly go to NAV’s system, but to a special supervisory service provider. The government set a HUF 5,000 monthly fee that can be charged to vending machine operators per machine by the service provider. István Bessenyei, owner and managing director of Laurel Group has announced that they developed the AFE unit, which is based on the market leader European telemetric solution.
Laurel’s AFE unit not only sends the necessary data to the authorities, but also uses an online platform to inform vending machine operators about everything they need to know about their machines. Thanks to this, it will be easier for machine operators to plan their work and this can increase sales. Expectation is that vending machine operators will profit more from the AFE units than their monthly cost – emphasised Mr Bessenyei. He added that Laurel Group will also appear in the market as a supervisory service provider. Laurel’s AFE unit is compatible with the majority of vending machine types.
