NFM: the consumer protection checks in e-commerce brought significant improvements
The proportion of web stores with consumer infringement violations has dropped to 14 percent from the previous 54 percent this year. The significant improvement is due to the adoption of the tightened consumer protection check legislation adopted last December – the National Development Ministry (NFM) announced on Monday.
According to the ministry, there are no fines for the first infringements committed by small and medium-sized webshops, the company has the opportunity to improve the detected errors. However, in the course of the repeated check, the consumer protection authority may impose fines ranging from 200,000 to 2 million for the same offense. (MTI)
