German agriculture minister: food prices continue to rise
In an interview with the Rheinische Post, the Green Party’s Cem Özdemir highlighted the need to reduce Germany’s economic dependence on authoritarian countries. The example of energy and fertilizer imported from Russia shows that “we have made ourselves dependent on despots,” he said.
He added that the truth is that not all the consequences of the war can be eliminated, so price increases will not go away quickly either. For consumers, this means “unfortunately there is still a long way to go”. (MTI)
