Nébih: anthrax struck the sheep
The National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) laboratory confirmed that anthrax has caused the sudden death in a sheep’s flock at the end of March, probably the inland water could have created the spores of the anthrax, the agency told on its website.
The district chief veterinarian had already ordered the local closure for the stock on the basis of suspicion of infection and started the treatment of the animals.
From the specific case, it was reported that the animals kept in the stable ran through an area where once anthrax occurred 60-65 years ago. (MTI)
