NAK: greater than expected interest in the new CAP Strategic Plan applications
The new CAP Strategic Plan applications received greater than expected interest, with significant oversubscriptions for most of the open calls – the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI on Tuesday.
According to the statement, farmers have recognized that despite the difficult economic conditions and hectic market movements, they can only move forward with developments and innovation and gain an advantage in the market. The statement quoted Tibor Zászlós, the chamber’s national vice president responsible for agriculture, as saying: the submission period for food industry and animal husbandry applications has passed, and farmers have received approximately 700 billion forints of support for the animal husbandry call alone.
Gergely Papp, the NAK’s deputy director general, noted in the statement that last year Hungary paid out around 1,400 billion forints in support to farmers
This year – in the advance payment period that began on October 16 – the amount paid pro rata significantly exceeds the amount paid a year earlier. They pointed out that farmers can submit applications for the Agri-Environmental Management Program (AKG) from November 25. NAK has prepared the AKG publication, which is available online, and village economists have also been trained to help applicants. They announced that the call for proposals to support organic production (ÖKO) will open soon, for which a publication has also been prepared. It is a huge achievement that 1.5 million hectares are now covered by either the AKG or ÖKO programs, and the aim of the current call is to maintain this level – they wrote. According to the statement,
Gergely Papp indicated that almost 50 tenders are expected to be published next year
Among these, he highlighted the tender to encourage digital transition, forestry calls, and support for the construction of crop storage facilities and crop dryers. The tender for young farmers and the tender to encourage farm transfers are expected to be published in the second half of the year, he added.
