Stakes are high in the dairy market in the coming weeks
The demand for dairy products jumped during the panic purchases while important customers, restaurants, hotels and schools fell out in a short time – index wrote. The immediate milk price also broke from 110 forints to 80 forints. Fortunately, the domestic supply of dairy products remained stable throughout. The big task for the near future is to ensure that the emergency does not shatter the long-term stability of the sector.
Today, the domestic food retail trade is starting to stabilize, but at the end of March and the beginning of April we could see large crowds storing in large grocery stores. It is not uncommon for the population to stock up for 40-60-80 thousand HUF worth products for weeks and months, so there were several cartons of UHT milk in the shopping carts.
