Modern thirst quencher in modern stores
Sport and energy drinks are among the most dynamically growing food categories. According to the Retail Index of Nielsen, retail sales have grown by 53 per cent in terms of value between April 2006 and March 2007. Energy drinks account for over 90 per cent of total sales in this category. Dynamic growth is the result of the increasing market share of private labels, which was 68 per cent in terms of quantity in February- March this year. Sales are concentrated in modern store types, with 80 per cent of the total quantity. Hyper markets still dominate this category, although their market share shows some decline. Average consumer price has fallen from HUF 615 last year to 601 in February-March.
