MNB: contactless cards are spreading rapidly
In the second quarter of this year, the turnover of electronic transactions continued to increase, however, the infrastructure of electronic payments has not changed significantly – the latest payment statistics of the Hungarian National Bank (NBH) shows.
The payments related to cards are still at a low level, the report published on Tuesday said.
A realignment takes place among the issued cards: the number of cards with contactless payment function increased by 22 percent in the second quarter. Thanks to a dynamic increase over 30 percent of the payment cards (2.7 million cards ) can be used that way. (MTI)
