MLSZKSZ: Hungary can be the distribution base of the Chinese container freight
After many years of waiting, the Chinese-Hungarian container freight traffic has started in the last months organized by three Hungarian companies. So far almost 40 trains and about 1,400 containers have arrived to Hungary on three routes.
According to traffic forecasts, a substantial increase in Chinese rail freight traffic is expected. There is a realistic chance that Hungary will distribute a large part of the goods flowing into the EU as a regional logistics center in the Eastern European region – the Hungarian Logistics Service Centers Association (MLSZKSZ) told. In addition to geopolitical changes, the growth of commodity turnover is supported by the new customs clearance practice developed by the NAV.
