Hungary can only keep up with the globalized wine market with top-quality products – said Horváth Csaba the Secretary-General, of the National Council of Mountain Villages.

According to Horváth Csaba; in the European Union the a competitive over-production can be a disadvantage, thus not only the Hungarian but also the EU’s wine production is reducing. The situation is complicated because around 280 million hectoliters are produced worldwide annually, but only 230-240 million hectoliters are consumed, so every year a surplus of 30 million hectoliters are produced – reports Origo, after MTI.
