Magazine: Quality, health and reliable base materials are the appeal of Hungarian products
According to Ágnes Villányi, Nielsen’s commercial relations director six out of ten consumers find it important to buy Hungarian food products. One third of them told the main reason is good quality, while one fifth buys Hungarian products because they are healthy. The third most important factor in their decision is reliable base materials, followed by familiar flavours and the brand itself, with ratios between 10 and 17 percent.
23 percent of surveyees said that the Hungarian origin of food products ‘is and is not important’. To 16 percent it does not matter at all whether the food they buy is Hungarian or not. 74 percent of people told that they are willing to pay the same price for Hungarian products as for foreign ones. Meat (81 percent), fruits and vegetables (76 percent) and milk (72 percent) are the most preferred Hungarian products.Related news
