Three SPAR supermarkets have been renovated and made more energy efficient, with a total investment of HUF 736 million
SPAR Hungary has invested a total of HUF 736 million in the modernization of its stores in Miskolc, Sopron and Tatabánya. The company’s own developments have renewed the interiors of the supermarkets and the stores use less energy than before during their operations.
“SPAR Hungary provides significant resources for the renovation of its existing stores every year. I am very pleased to report that as a result of our own investments totaling HUF 736 million, our customers have been able to take possession of a renovated SPAR supermarket in Miskolc, Sopron and Tatabánya. As part of our modernization program, not only were the interiors of the stores renewed, but in line with our strategic aspirations, we also placed great emphasis on environmental awareness and energy saving during the construction. Our customers can expect a fresh, wide selection of products and continuous promotions in the modernized supermarkets”
– explained Márk Maczelka, SPAR’s head of communications.
The SPAR supermarket at 18 Kodály Square in Sopron was renovated with an investment of HUF 286 million. During the development, the layout of the sales area changed, and based on SPAR’s latest interior design concept, the vegetable department received greater emphasis, and the checkout area was designed with new checkout furniture. As a novelty in the store, which reopened on November 28, customers can find freshly prepared food in a grill warmer integrated into the counter. New refrigeration furniture was added to the sales area, and the current cooling tubs were replaced by wall-mounted Mirelit refrigerators. The store’s lighting is provided by energy-saving LED lamps, and the store’s cooling technology was replaced with a new, environmentally friendly, carbon dioxide-based system. New, door-mounted refrigerated cabinets have arrived at the supermarket, which means additional energy savings.
SPAR Hungary invested a total of HUF 283 million in a busy supermarket in Tatabánya. After the reopening on November 28, customers will be greeted by a reversed circulation pattern in the Gál István housing estate store, with the entrance located in the former checkout area, followed by the fruit and vegetable department, bakery, service counters, dairy department, and finally the Mirelit refrigerators. The new feature of the counter row is the grill warmer, where fresh food is served to customers. New refrigerated cabinets have been installed in the sales area, and the checkout area has also been furnished with new furniture. The sales area is lit by energy-saving LED lights, and the store is cooled by a new, environmentally friendly, carbon dioxide-based system. The new, door-mounted refrigerated cabinets enable further energy savings.
