Eu’Vend+Coffeena opened its gates in Cologne
Eu'Vend isl be held in Cologne for the fifth time from 8th to 10th September. We have remained true to our philosophy, retaining tried and tested elements while at the same time refining the event in line with changing market requirements. For one thing, this year we have linked coffeena – the International Coffee Fair – with Eu'Vend. From now on, these two trade fairs will take place in parallel.
Since 2003, we – that is, Koelnmesse and the German Vending Association (BDV) – have established Eu'Vend as an independent trade fair platform that is tailored especially to the needs of the vending sector. The trade fair focuses on vending machines, filling products (food and non-food), operating systems, payment systems and services.
This year we have been able to surpass the very good results Eu'Vend has posted in previous years, not least because of the combination with coffeena. That applies to the number of exhibitors and also to the event's international scope.
A total of 237 companies from 28 countries are exhibiting their products and services this year. In other words, the number of exhibitors has increased by approximately 25 percent. The number of countries represented has grown from 18 to 28.
These figures clearly show that bringing together Eu'Vend and coffeena will further enhance their already high levels of expertise in the coffee sector. The contents and the market participants complement one another and benefit from one another.
As far as the exhibitors at Eu'Vend are concerned, the “Who's Who” of the vending sector will be there. Many of them have been regularly exhibiting their products and services here in Cologne for years now.
Major market-leading coffee roasting companies will be represented, in addition to numerous providers of specialty products and manufacturers of coffee machines and disposable cups. The major coffee roasters include Darboven, Jacobs and Nestlé. Thanks to the participation of companies such as Barry Callebaut, Satro and Laqtia, Eu'Vend + coffeena are also well-positioned when it comes to instant products. What's more, the organizers have succeeded in attracting two interesting, up-and-coming grower countries to be exhibitors – Indonesia and India.
Eu'Vend serves as the interface linking the manufacturers of vending machines and the manufacturers of filling products, as well as the operators and potential users of vending machines. Together, Eu'Vend + coffeena also address buyers from the catering sector – ranging from system caterers and institutional/communal catering right through to catering in the hotel trade and coffee shops. The expansion of the product range in the coffee segment opens up further options for interested trade visitors. For example, they can now gain detailed information about the potential for using their own coffee specialties or roasts, or find out about quality-oriented concepts for particular buyers and customer groups. The exhibitors at coffeena will benefit from the contact to the operators of vending machines for hot beverages, as it will provide the exhibitors with further interesting sales opportunities.
To supplement the exhibitors' product ranges, the Eu'vend + coffeena supporting programme will effectively address topics of interest to the industry. The programme includes the discussion forum “Visions of Vending”, in which sector experts will explain their positions on current issues. The “Vending Innovations” competition and the related presentation of the “Vending Star” for innovative concepts and ideas is always a highlight of the trade fair, especially in connection with the special show that displays all of the innovations that were submitted.
