Performance growth in the euro area started in March
In March, the euro area economy started to grow due to a strong strengthening of manufacturing performance, according to the final results of a survey of purchasing managers at the IHS Markit Institute for Economic Research in London.
In March, the final value of the composite purchasing managers’ index (PMI), formed by combining manufacturing and services data, reached 53.2 points, reflecting significantly stronger-than-expected growth in the euro area. The preliminary value was 52.5 points. In February, the value of the index was still below the 50-point threshold, at 48.8 points. (MTI)
