Product warranty from 15 March
In the future the purchaser can enforce the warranty right against the manufacturer or the dealer, thanks to the new Civil Code, enters into force on 15 March.
The new Civil Code introduces the institution of the product warranty. “According to the new regulations, the enforceability of product warranties will not be affected by the selling of the products further, because if the new owner can be considered as aconsumer, he or she can also directly enforce the guarantee against the vendor or against the manufacturer” – Torsten Braner, partner of the Taylor Wessing e|n|w|c law firm draws attention.
