Two hundred accommodation and catering establishments have already registered for the energy support program for SMEs
Almost two hundred registrations have already been received from domestic accommodation providers and restaurant operators for the SME Energy Cost and Investment Support Program. It is worth registering as soon as possible through the Customer Portal, so that the tourism service providers can receive the non-refundable overhead subsidy as soon as possible. About 21,000 tourist businesses can receive serious help to reduce their increased costs and stabilize their operations, thanks to the application opportunity extended at the suggestion of the Hungarian Tourism Agency.
Within the framework of the program, nearly 16,000 catering units and 4,500 accommodation facilities across the country were given the opportunity to receive a 50% direct subsidy for the increase in their utility bills (natural gas, electricity, district heating) in the first quarter of 2023. Nearly two hundred of them have registered so far.
MTÜ now encourages all tourism SMEs involved to take advantage of the registration option. It is important to know that only tourism service providers who have already received overhead subsidies can apply for the investment support scheme that increases energy efficiency, which can be used as an additional leg of the SME Energy Cost and Investment Support Program.
“It’s not worth waiting, registration as soon as possible is also important so that businesses can take advantage of all elements of the program within the available deadlines”
– stressed Ivett Bődi, MTÜ tourism’s deputy general manager responsible for strategic implementation, in connection with the start of registration.
