Preparations for the 2025 season began in February this year, with Hungarian growers sowing 600,000-700,000 seeds on around 180,000 -200,000 hectares of land, to produce thousands of tonnes of the fresh, juicy fruit for Tesco by summer. The first watermelons usually arrive in stores in July. //
