Christmas chocolate figures have been made at Nestlé’s Diósgyőr factory for six decades
Originally built as a food factory, the building complex of the chocolate factory in Díosgyőr has now become the only factory of the Nestlé company group in the world specializing in the production of hollow chocolate figures. The factory, which celebrates its sixtieth anniversary this year, now supplies Easter and Christmas products to more than 25 countries.
The name of the chocolate factory in Diósgyőr is a concept in Miskolc, its 60 years of uninterrupted operation is of industrial historical importance, especially in light of the fact that not one of the products produced here is unique in the world. About 4,000 tons of figurines are produced at the plant annually, so that 88% of this volume ends up on the shelves of stores in more than 25 countries. In a unique facility in the world of Nestlé, around 400 employees make nearly 300 types of hollow Christmas and Easter chocolate figures.
