Price difference between the EU Member States is almost threefold

There were very big differences in the price level of goods and services in the various Member States of the European Union last year: Denmark was the most expensive and Bulgaria was the cheapest, according to a report released on Thursday by the EU’s Statistical Office (Eurostat).

In terms of the average of the European Union (100 percent), the price level in Denmark was 139 percent, 125 percent in Ireland, both 124 percent in Luxembourg and in Sweden. Prices in Bulgaria were the lowest, 48 percent of the EU average, followed by Romania (52 percent), Poland (53 percent) and Hungary (60 percent). (MTI)
