40-percent lemon juice is the most popular
Nielsen Retail Index reveals that lemon juice retail sales grew by 4 percent in terms of value in December 2009-May 2010, compared to the previous period a year before. The size of the market approaches an annual HUF 3 billion. However, in terms of quantity the index recorded a 3-percent decrease. As for fruit content, the 40-percent segment boasted the biggest market share, totalling at 53 percent in the examined period; the 100 percent segment fell from 2 to 1 percent. Private labels had a rather large, 40-43 percent market share. Packaging units larger than 1 litre increased their volume share from 45 to 47 percent; 1-litre versions fell from 48 to 46 percent.
