Fight against mold – home practice is not the best solution if you want to keep the washing machine clean
The task of our washing machine is to quickly and efficiently make textiles perfectly clean, which is why it can be shocking to see deposits of a suspicious texture and color, perhaps mold, cover the detergent dispenser drawer and the rubber seals of the device. If we start looking for possible solutions on the Internet, we can easily run into advice that actually only harms one of our most used household appliances. LG Hungary has now collected what practices we should avoid – and how we should actually clean the washing machine instead.
According to the experience of the LG service, many people use outdated home practices to clean their washing machines, or completely neglect the regular maintenance of their appliances, because they do not think that the washing machines also require some attention from time to time. However, these devices also get dirty: the fabric softener and detergent residue can accumulate on the internal parts and the drum, and these accumulated deposits can leave stains on clothes over time. The mold that appears on the rubber seal of the door and in the detergent dispenser can even cause a health problem.
Home practices to avoid
To this day, many people swear by the magical cleaning effect of vinegar, but there are also those who use hydrochloric acid to clean the washing machine. Although there are areas in the home where these are ideal cleaning agents, washing machine parts are not one of them: these appliances are not designed to work with such liquids. If you don’t want your appliance to end its service prematurely, choose a special washing machine cleaning liquid available in drugstores, which has been specially developed and tested for dirt and scale deposits in the appliance.
