KSH: industrial production fell by 1.3 percent in July
In July 2024, the volume of industrial production was 1.3 percent lower than a year earlier, adjusted for the working day effect, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday based on its first estimate.
The reason for the significant difference between the working day-adjusted and raw data is that there were two more working days in July this year than last year.
Compared to the previous month, June, seasonally and working day-adjusted industrial output remained unchanged.
In its first estimate, the KSH stated only that, of the four most important sub-sectors, the volume of production decreased in vehicle manufacturing, electrical equipment manufacturing, and computer, electronic, and optical product manufacturing, while food, beverage, and tobacco manufacturing increased.
In the first seven months of the year, industrial production was 3.0 percent lower than in the same period of 2023.
The KSH will announce the detailed data of industrial production in July a week later, on September 13, based on its second estimate.
