KSH: increase in agricultural producer prices
In July, the price of vegetable products increased by 5.3 percent after a decline of eight months, while the price of live animals and animal products increased by 9.3 percent – shows the datas of the Central Statistics Office (KSH), released on Wednesday. Overall, agricultural producer prices rose by 6.6 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The price of the vegetable products were driven up by the price increase of vegetables and fruits for the first time this year, while grain prices have also increased compared with a year earlier, while in June they were 7.1 percent lower than last year's level. The price increase in live animals and animal products was mainly due to the price increase pigs.
In the January-July period of 2012, agricultural producer prices rose by 5.1 percent, compared to the first seven months of last year. (MTI)
