U.S.A. may impose safeguard duties against China, due to carbon dioxide emissions
China may lose its largest market in the future, if China will not do anything against pollution. The U.S. may impose safeguard duties on Chinese products if the Asian country do not restrict carbon dioxide emissions.
The United States would penalize those countries, that are not willing to make 2018 action against climate change, with safeguard duties. The bill mainly affect China and India negatively. After the imposition of safeguard duty, the products would not be cheap enough to be worthwhile for America to import them from abroad. The Asian countries are accused United States of protectionism, because they think the fight against climate change is actually referring to only protect the domestic goods – reports FN.hu.
