Decreasing mall building mood in Eastern Europe
According to the datas of the Austrian RegioData research company; Compared to the peak of 2007, the number of mall-building projects in the Southeast, and Eastern European region may decrease to its one-tenth this year.
In the inspected 25 countries, a total of 268 shopping centers had been built in the peak year of the investment fever. A year later in 2008 214, in 2009 168 shopping malls were built. This year only 26 projects will be completed.
Despite this, about one thousand shopping centers are still largely designed to be built in eastern and southeastern Europe, but the third of the projects are not expected to be realized – reports privatbankar.hu.
