Significant improvements are expected in the wake of the food strategy
Significant improvements can be implemented in the Hungarian food industry by 2020, due to the food industry development strategy. According to the plans, the available funding will be about 300 billion HUF.
Zsigó Róbert Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture (FM) responsible for food chain surveillance told on Tuesday in Budapest, at the Easter press conference of the Hungarian Meat Industry Association that if the government adopts the strategy the direct profitability of the sector (which is now around zero) can increase up to 4-5 percent. In addition, the objective is to increase domestic sales by 7-10 and exports by 30-40 percent. (MTI)
