ITM: one tenth of the web stores were inspected by the consumer protection authority within an EU action
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology’s (ITM) consumer protection was among those who carried out the most controls in a series of EU-wide inspections that have resulted in millions of misleading advertisements and product advertisements related to the corona virus outbreak – the ministry told MTI.
According to their information, as part of the campaign, the Ministry’s IT Laboratory investigated online product sales related to the coronavirus. Like the participating authorities, ITM came across a number of dubious offers and advertisements for products launched in the context of the pandemic, which were misleadingly offered by the websites concerned.
