An increase in the turnover of Hungary's retail sales
After one and a half years, the turnover of Hungary's retail sales have risen again in the fourth quarter of last year, 2 percent more food, household chemicals and cosmetics had been sold in the stores in last October and December than in the comparable period a year earlier. Among other things, market research company Nielsen's survey, carried out in 20 developed European countries pointed out.
Even though the volume of traffic has seen a 2 percent increase in the fourth quarter, the market basically remained stable, because the average price was lower by 2 percent, Szalókyné Tóth Judir managing director of Nilsen pointed out. This decline was affected by a number of various factors: the traffic of private label products increased, and there was a lower sales of commercial channels, as well as special sales.
