Microplastics have also been found in the meat, milk and blood of farm animals
In their trial research, scientists from the Vrije University of Amsterdam (VAU) found microplastics in three quarters of the examined meat and dairy products, as well as in all blood samples.
Particles were detected in all samples of animal pellet (fibrous, fibrous material pressed under high pressure) feed tested, suggesting that this is a possible route of contamination. The food products were wrapped in plastic, another potential source of contamination. (MTI)
