A German supermarket chain was selling “peeled” bananas
A supermarket chain in Austria that urges reduced usage of unsustainable packaging, has courted controversy by offering peeled bananas for sale.
The bananas were offered for sale by German owned Billa, owned by the Rewe group and were presented in plastic trays and wrapped in plastic film.
After receiving criticism over the packaging staff have admitted that it was a one of mistake that would not be repeated. (Central European News, MTI)
