Unilever declares war on food waste and unhealthy food
Unilever has announced the launch of a large-scale program to help consumers eat healthier and reduce the environmental impact of food production.
As part of this, the company undertakes to
• increase the annual turnover of plant-based meat and dairy substitutes (eg The Vegetarian Butcher or vegan Magnum and Hellmann’s mayonnaise) to 1 billion euros;
• halves the amount of food waste;
• double the proportion of healthier food products in its portfolio;
• further develop its calorie, salt and sugar reduction program.
