GfK: The customers range of of retail shop types has not shrunk further
According to the datas of GfK’s study analyzing the retail trends of the first half of the year, the customers range of of retail shop types has not shrunk further in the first six months of the year. In fact, the hypermarket chains with their low prices and a wide selection of products, the independent stores and the national chains, were able to attract new customers.
According to the study sent to MTI on Thursday, independent small stores are alternatives even for bigger purchases. According to the survey, significant shift has not occurred in the market share of the retail channels: hypermarkets, supermarkets and discounts retained their close to 60 percent market share, however the small and independent shops have increased their share, compared to the same period of the last year ba about 2 percentage points.
