French wine strength measurements: the Spaniards are lagging behind the U.S. won new positions
The FranceAgriMer (National Office of Agricultural Products) examines the strengths and weaknesses of the wine sector in 15 countries since 1998. On the basis of the FranceAgriMer’s competitive factor, based on scores, Italy, France and the USA occupies the first three positions.
In recent years, competition has accelerated among the market participants, the market positions of France have weakened. In 2011, the countries of the new world showed a heterogeneous picture, but in the other countries have strengthened their competitive position. However, Italy and France has maintained their positions, while the U.S.A. since 2008, has evolved considerably and took the third place in 2011. (by our colleague)
