Slight increase in January
The Purchasing Managers’ Index (BMI) seasonally adjusted for January is 50.7. Compared to previous Januarys, this year’s figure is below the long-term Average for January (52.9) and the average for the past three years (53.6).
Most of the sub-indices examined in the survey decreased compared to December. In eight cases, the rate of change reached 5 percentage points. The employment index remained above 50.0 points this month, the fourth time in a month that it has remained unchanged. The index has been hovering around 50.0 in recent years.
