Man of The Year: Engelbert Liegl in logistics
Every year, the logistics journal Navigátor appoints the “Man of the Year” on the Hungarian forwarding scene. In 2010, the prestigious award
went to Austrian-born Engelbert Liegl. The 44-year-old managing director of Liegl & Dachser follows 12 Hungarian award winners as the first non-Hungarian to be honoured by the high-calibre expert jury.
The jury was especially impressed by Liegl’s achievements within the scope of the Liegl & Dachser joint venture launched in 1999, referring to the company’s outstanding dynamic development under his management during the past few years and the high quality and
service standards associated with the brand. In its explanation, the
jury pointed out that under the management of Engelbert Liegl,
Liegl & Dachser had become a leading logistics provider in the
Hungarian market and enjoyed a high level of brand recognition
and respect throughout Europe. Even in the crisis year 2009, the
jury concluded, Liegl & Dachser had continued along its path of
growth and achieved excellent results, ranking fifth at national
