Industrial producer prices have risen, and export prices have already fallen
In April 2023, industrial producer prices rose by an average of 15.9 percent compared to a year earlier. Domestic sales prices increased by 41.9 percent, export sales by 3.3 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Wednesday.
The varying degree of price increase was primarily caused by the fact that the domestic sales prices of the energy industry – which basically produces for the domestic market and represents a large part of it – were much higher than a year earlier, while export prices had already decreased – noted the KSH.
The increase in the price of raw materials and the increase in production costs also played a role in the increase in industrial producer prices.
Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices decreased by 0.5 percent, export sales by 2.7 percent, so industrial producer prices decreased by 2.0 percent overall.
