Registration has started for TeSzedd! for a waste collection campaign
TeSzedd will be held again this year! waste collection action, for which volunteers can already apply – announced the state secretary of the Ministry of Energy (ME) responsible for the environment and circular economy on Monday in Budapest.
Anikó Raisz said at the press conference that TeSzedd! will be held between April 22 and 28 this year. – Voluntarily, the campaign for a clean Hungary, which is the country’s largest and most significant waste collection program. With the national campaign, the government’s goal is to create an environmentally conscious attitude among the population, prevent and eliminate illegal waste dumping, and strengthen volunteering, the state secretary emphasized. Anikó Raisz indicated that, in accordance with the climate and nature protection action plan, the government is taking measures that contribute to the reduction of waste generation, the prevention of illegal waste dumping, and the creation of value from waste, promoting the development of a circular economy. Through the economic and environmental aspects and beyond these, this program is also a program of social responsibility and cooperation – he emphasized. He reported that in last year’s action, a total of 850 tons of garbage were collected at about nine hundred points by students and their teachers, workplace communities, and groups of friends. The goal this year is to exceed last year’s volume.
This year’s 11th action begins on Earth Day, April 22, and lasts until the end of the sustainability theme week
You can register from Monday, April 11 until 6 p.m. with an e-mail address or Facebook profile on the szelektalok.hu page. The state secretary pointed out that only waste that can be picked up by hand and safely can be collected, and other waste can be reported in the Waste Radar application. With the support of the Ministry of Finance, ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. takes care of the transportation of the bagged waste and the tools necessary for collection.
