An agreement between the EU and China on the protection of geographical indications could enter into force

With the approval of the Council of the European Union, an agreement could enter into force from early 2021 to protect hundreds of European geographical indications (geographical indications and designations of origin) in China and hundreds of Chinese geographical indications in the EU from unauthorized use and counterfeiting – origo wrote.

The EU list of protected geographical indications in China includes products such as
the Italian cava,
French champagne,
the Greek feta,
the Irish whisky
Munich beer,
the ouzo,
Polish vodka,
a porto,
Parma ham and
the Spanish Manchego sheep cheese.

Chinese products protected by the geographical indication include, but are not limited to, bean pulp from Bichen, white tea from Ancsi, rice from Pancsin and ginger from Ancsiu. (MTI, origo)
