How green are consumers really?
When it comes to sustainable
consumption, considerations of cost and use generally outweigh
concern for the environment. However, in other areas, such as the
national energy supply or waste disposal/recycling, Germans have
a decidedly higher awareness of green issues. These are the findings
of the latest GfK Global Green Index, a new representative
survey carried out by GfK Marktforschung in October 2011.
Not least since the Fukishima reactor disaster has German consumer
awareness once again turned the spotlight on green issues.
