Are beauty products harmful to health? Experts warn of the dangers of Temu
The world of online shopping continues to conquer, and Temu, a popular Chinese marketplace, has become attractive to many with its incredibly cheap prices. However, in the latest episode of CashTag, the Money Center video blog, three experts—a dermatologist, a dentist, and a master hairdresser—warned about the risks of beauty products purchased by Temun.
Skincare: The dangers of suspiciously cheap products
According to the dermatologist, using reliable, quality ingredients is of paramount importance in the skin care market. Suspicious, cheap creams and serums from unknown sources may not only be ineffective, but also worsen the condition of the skin. Some products do not meet EU standards and may contain ingredients that can cause irritation, allergies, or even long-term skin damage.
Teeth Whitening: When the Miracle Cure Harms
According to the dentist, teeth whitening products purchased by Temun can be particularly dangerous. “We often encounter products that lead to permanent damage to tooth enamel,” he said. These products often contain strong acids or other substances that can lead to enamel loss and sensitive teeth. The expert highlighted that a suspiciously cheap teeth whitening product can do more harm than good and even lead to expensive dental procedures.
Hair Care: What to Look Out For?
According to the master hairdresser, excessive use of silicones, parabens or other harmful substances in hair care products can be a problem. These cheap preparations often do not meet quality standards and can damage the hair structure in the long run, dry out the scalp or even cause hair loss.
Why are these products allowed?
Although products intended for the EU market must comply with strict regulations, platforms like Temu often circumvent these regulations. According to experts, buyers should be especially careful when they come across suspiciously cheap products from unknown brands. Unreliable labeling, missing ingredients, or vague quality guarantees can all be red flags.
