Digitalisation in the region
In the average shop an incorrect price is indicated for 6 percent of the products. Statistical data prove that 15 percent of shoppers do not buy a product if the price is not indicated on the shelf or if an incorrect price is displayed. Different prices on the shelf and at the till lead to conflicts. In the long run customers lose their trust in the store and this leads to lower sales revenue. Luckily, the solution is simple: Pricer electronic shelf label. Swedish company Pricer has a worldwide market share above 60 percent: their shelf-labels realise two-way data flow and Pricer is also the fastest shelf label system on the market with 50,000-200,000 label updates/hour. Prices can be indicated in EUR and in the local currency at the same time, and in addition the promotional price is displayed as well. Pricer shelf labels tell how many products were sold in a given period or how many of them can be found on the shelves or in the store room. Pricer is present in 40 counties with 80 million shelf labels and their main partners include Metro, Carrefour, Praktiker, Spar, Cora, Macy’s, the Delhaize Group and Casino France. In our region Price is market leader with an 80-percent share and more than 500,000 labels installed. In Hungary Szintézis Informatics Group is currently installing 6 systems and they were the first in the world to install an outdoor shelf label system for Praktiker. In Slovakia one of the biggest retail chain’s first unit is about to launch the installation project. In Romania the system is already up and running in a METRO and in an Apple store. Pricer debuted in the Czech Republic in 2011 and in the test period feedback was positive.
