Angry customers and employees at Woolworths' final bargain sale

Bargain-hunters raided Woolworths stores searching for cut-price stocking fillers as the chain’s closing down sale kicked off.

Despite hundreds of people passing
through the store’s doors, many left empty-handed because they
either could not face the long queues or could not see as many
bargains as they had hoped for. The controversial sale saw promises
of half price reductions on several lines, but the majority of items
in the shop were cut by only 10 or 20 per cent leading to complaints
from shoppers hoping to get their hands on cheap Christmas presents.
Not only the customers, but the employees were also angry. 30,000
loose their jobs.
