The innovation of Rossmann and Respray was presented
In front of many celebrities and eco-conscious influencers, the innovation of the drugstore chain and Respray, the refillable deospray technology, debuted in the Rossmann store in Budaörs. Eszter Ónodi, Nóra Ördög and Peti Puskás also participated in the press conference connected with the event, the host was Judit Stahl.
The demand for sustainable products has increased greatly in recent years, and in response to this, FMCG companies are providing more and more refill solutions focusing on different products. The main motivation was to reduce the amount of plastic packaging by allowing the packaging to be used several times. The trend of refilling has started in the deodorant market as well, for most packaging, for example, deodorant balls or sticks, several solutions have been created that have achieved enormous success among customers.
In the case of the blowing deodorant, however, the solution has been waiting until now due to technological challenges. Respray’s innovation provides a solution to these problems: it combines an innovative valve and nozzle technology with a self-developed refilling machine, which, thanks to its various functions, enables bottles to be refilled in the customer’s environment. The project started in the fall of 2020, and in two investment rounds, a total of HUF 70 million has been involved in the development with the participation of investors. Respray’s team of six consists of all university students, including BME software development and mechanical engineering students, as well as Corvinus economics students.
