OMV to deliver almost 50 ultra-fast charging points in the country by the end of 2025
OMV’s new fast chargers are already available at 15 locations in Hungary, and they are working on building 12 more charging points, which are expected to be completed by the end of the year; the company will deliver almost 50 ultra-fast charging points by the end of 2025, OMV Hungária Kft. told MTI.
They added that this will make fast charging available to anyone within about 100 kilometers along the main routes.
The available ultra-chargers can now be used with a capacity of at least 100 kW, and in several locations, electric car owners will be able to charge with up to 200 kW by the end of 2024.
The statement quoted Ján Hrivnák, CEO of OMV Hungária Kft. CEO and Head of Retail Business, who said that they only install charging points that provide lightning-fast energy consumption, so drivers who choose OMV charging points can recharge their car batteries to 80 percent in just 20-30 minutes.
OMV has also developed its own application for the chargers called eMotion, with which motorists can see the available chargers and their performance in real time, as well as use a route planner to get to the location.
Based on data from CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) applications co-financed by the European Union, the construction of an ultra-fast charging point costs approximately 150 million forints.
