The improving consumer expectations can also be detected in the domestic tourism figures according to the Senior Analyst of ING, while the Secretary-General of the Hotel Association hopes that the decline in foreign guest nights in May is a temporary halt.
The Ministry of National Economy (NGM) in its communication stresses that the drive force behind domestic tourism is the Széchenyi Rest Card, of which commercial accommodation usage in May increased by 58 percent compared to last year.
According to the fresh datas of the Central Statistics Office (KSH) the domestic guests spent 13.8 percent more guest nignts in commercial accommodations in May, while the number of guest nights spent by foreigners decreased by 4.1 percent, so the overall growth is 2.9 percent. (MTI)
