AMAZON – reloaded
Amazon’s shares are worth the most in the stock market and the following three case studies prove that one of Amazon’s strengths is innovation. 1. Amazon is buying old post office and parcel delivery facilities. This move practically solves the ‘last mile of delivery’ problem – how purchased goods reach customers. 2. Opening shops. The company’s plan is to open ‘real retail units’ in Seattle. Shops like this can be very useful for marketing and research purposes. As people are becoming ‘omninchannel’ consumers, these shops will be the perfect place for online buyers to test the goods offline in advance. 3. Echo, Amazon’s Trojan Horse. Amazon Echo is basically a wireless speaker and voice command device. It responds to the name Alexa and it gives access to music, radio, Wikipedia and to other devices. Amazon Echo costs USD 149 and it can also be used to make to-do lists in-store and send orders via the Amazon cloud.
