The Livestock and Meat Marketing Board Interprofessional Organisation (VHT) states that pork prices will be higher, due to the increasing shipping costs.

Szpisják Imre’s swine called Béla (weight: 530 kilograms) was officially inducted into the Hungarian Book of Records (szoljon.hu)

They estimate that the introduction of e-toll increases the shipping of pigs by almost one third. The animal breeders cannot pass the costs to the processors, because the processors cannot pay more, while the traders are afraid of a reduction in consumption. According to Menczel Lászlóné, secretary of the Livestock and Meat Marketing Board Interprofessional Organisation (VHT) the price increases will stimulate the already significant black economy. If the government will not reduce the amount of the toll on food deliveries, the producers and the processors should deliver the meet products with small 3.5 tons vans, that will make the shipping costs much more expensive.  (by our colleague)
