The Ministry of National Resources would increase the excise tax of alcohol and cigarette

The State Secretary of the Ministry of National Resources, responsible for health issues, would create additional sources for health care from the excise tax of alcohol and tobacco.

After the Hungarian health care cannot expect additional fundings next year, therefore, forced to collect it in small amounts. In the scope of this, the Ministry investigates all the options, as well as the summer proposal package of Csiba Gábor, the President of the Strategic Alliance of the Hungarian Hospitals Association – reports Népszabadság.
In June, Csiba Gábor published a health action plan proposal in which it is stated that 10 HUF health care contribution would be introduced in the price of alcohol, tobacco, chips, hamburgers andcarbonated soft drinks. This could be an annual 100 billion HUF plus income.
