The Ministry of Agriculture is actively involved in combating food waste
October 16 is the UN World Food Day. This year’s motto is: “Our deeds shape the future – healthy nutrition for a hunger-free world.” On this occasion a joint event was held in Budapest by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Ministry of Agriculture and the Hungarian Food Bank Association.
Belánszky-Demkó Zsolt, Deputy Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture said that today food waste is becoming more and more important, and this World Day is an excellent opportunity to draw people’s attention to the importance of prevention. It is important for everyone involved to think about what they can do to change their environment, to reduce food waste and to eat in a more environmentally friendly, sustainable way.
