Retail sales increased in Great Britain
In April, retail sales grew more than expected in Great Britain. It is the highest increase of the past 15 months, according to the data released by the National Statistical Office on Thursday.
In April, retail sales grew by 2.3 percent compared to the previous month, following a 1.4 percent fall in March. The statistical office reduced the March data from a 1.8 percent decrease to 1.4 percent.
April’s 2.3 percent monthly increase is the highest since January 2016.
Analysts expected a 1.0 percent monthly and 2.0 percent annual growth for April. (MTI)
